MAY IS FINALLY OVER!!! This month has been a hectic time. And in about 2 days, it'll finally be summer and I have so much planned for June as well as the rest of summer.
This month really was hectic. I had so much going on; for school and for this blog. For one, I finally learned how to use twitter and I’ve found some awesome people on there. (originally I was going to list some of them but that’ll simply take wayyyyy too long). Also I joined in on some projects such as the Book Blogger Creativity Project hosted by Nori @ ReadWriteLove28. I seriously am so happy to be part of an amazing team and can’t wait to share what we are doing with all of you! Now onto some of the books that happened this month. I didn’t have much time to read new books this month but re-read some old favorites. New Books:

Here are some teasers: About the Author Martine Lewis is a forty something who was born and raised in the French speaking province of Quebec, Canada. She spent her childhood looking forward to her summer vacations at the farm, which were a nice escape from the suburbs where she lived. Her first written endeavor was a 200-page handwritten Duran Duran bandfiction which she wrote when she was eleven years old. Of all her written work, this is the only one she no longer has. All throughout high school, Martine wrote more bandfictions and some original work, then she went to write fanfictions in the Star Wars, Buffy and Harry Potter universes. Her fanficiton in the Potterverse are mostly centered on characters of her own creation and can be found on fanfiction.net. Following her viewing of Roswell on Netflix in 2012, Martine wrote book two and three of the Gray Eyes Series, then went on to create the Gray Eyes Series universe in which she has been playing ever since. She writes contemporary coming-of-age romance fiction (young adult/new adult) with a twist. Martine is an avid reader and rollerskater. She loves sushi, hot chocolate on a cold day, and the beach. But what she loves above all else is to curl on her chair with her computer and write more stories for her readers. Martine currently lives in Houston TX with her two cats. Return to the Isle of the Lost by Melissa de la Cruz Genre: Adventure, Middle Grade read, Disney, Magic Publishing Date: May 24, 2016 Format: I received a copy from the publisher in exchange for an honest review You however, can purchase the book from Amazon here: http://www.amazon.com/Return-Isle-Lost-Descendants-Novel/dp/1484750713/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1464400999&sr=8-1&keywords=return+to+the+isle+of+the+lost First of all, how awesome is this series? As you probably could tell by my review of the prequel (if you haven’t seen it yet, here it is: Isle of the Lost Review) Summary from Amazon: Mal's an expert at intimidating her enemies, but she's broken the habit since leaving her villainous roots behind. So when she and her friends Evie, Carlos, and Jay all receive threatening messages demanding they return home, Mal can't believe it. Sure, she's King Ben's girlfriend now, and she's usually nice to her classmates, but she still didn't think anyone would be silly enough to try to push her around. Isle of the Lost by Melissa de la Cruz Genre: Adventure, Middle Grade read, Disney, Magic Publishing Date: May 5, 2015 Format: I borrowed the e-book from my public library. You can purchase the book from Amazon here: http://www.amazon.com/Isle-Lost-Descendants-Novel/dp/1484720970/ref=pd_bxgy_14_img_2?ie=UTF8&refRID=0E1BR58ER0W0DQMT69GC First of all, this book is a PREQUEL to Disney’s Descendents. I did not figure this out until a couple weeks after I read it because I still haven’t watched Descendents yet (but I really want to because it stars some of my favorite Disney actors). Also, the SEQUEL to Descendents is called Return to the Isle of the Lost and will be released May 24th, 2016 (TOMORROW!!). I already have a copy to review and that review will be up by next week. Now with that said, let’s get started with the review. So as many of you book nerds may know, BEA16 happened last week and now all of us who didn't go (aka me) are getting real jealous over the insane amounts of fun that they had and the amounts of books and the number of bloggers that they all got to meet. But one topic that stands out right now on my twitter feed is the topic of ARC selling. (I would just like to make sure EVERYONE knows that I have never sold or bought any ARCs). There are several problems that I find with this so I thought, why not make it a blog post?
So in all, I guess what I'm trying to say is that ARC selling is bad and please don't ever do that or encourage the people who do by buying the copies. Let's all stay nice and use them for their intended purpose. I hope that wasn't too long and if you actually read all the way to the end, I give you a virtual high-five. As always, pitch in on what you think in the comments below or find me on social media! (I've been using Twitter a lot more so tweet me! My handle is @Brookeevans2001) I should have a review up soon this week so until then, happy reading! ~Brooke Royal Games [ARC Review] by Sariah Wilson Genre: Romance Publication date: 05 July 2016 Format: I received this book as a ebook from Netgalley in exchange for an honest review You can preorder your copy of the book here: http://www.amazon.com/Royal-Royals-Monterra-Sariah-Wilson-ebook/dp/B01B1OGQFQ/ref=sr_1_1?s=digital-text&ie=UTF8&qid=1461971424&sr=1-1&keywords=royal+games Also, don’t forget to check my review for Royal Chase here: Royal Chase Review If you enjoy The Royals of Monterra, you can find more on this blog post: The Royals of Monterra Summary from Netgalley: Genesis Kelley didn’t just get her heart broken. The aspiring veterinarian had it crushed in front of millions of viewers on the dating reality show Marry Me. Now, just as she’s getting her life and dignity back together, her royal heartbreaker, Prince Rafael of Monterra, has landed in Frog Hollow, Iowa. And he’s renting out her aunt’s guest cottage. Deceiving TV audiences for his brother’s sake cost Rafe the girl of his dreams. But he’s going to fix it, even if it means moving from his mountain-kingdom home to small-town Iowa. A prince doesn’t give up on his rightful princess—especially once he realizes Genesis is in deeper danger than she knows. Between fixing her truck, whisking her off to Monterra for a whirlwind date, and charming the entire town, Rafe is thawing the ice around Genesis’s heart. Will it be enough to earn back her trust, protect her from her past—and sweep her into a real-life fairy tale? Ok, I know, I know, I've been a really bad blogger these past couple of weeks. I've basically been MIA. Truth be told, I haven't really felt like blogging. It takes a lot of energy out of me and I can't afford to lose the little energy that I have.
I have SO many tests and projects and due dates coming up in the next 3 weeks so there won't be as many posts as I had anticipated. For the most part, I'll still be active on my email and social media (I particularly like Twitter so go and follow me on there. My account is @Brookeevans2001) but I'm just not exactly in the blogging mode right now. I have a few new collaborations and projects that I am still working on. I want to reach out and meet more bloggers and readers and authors. In the past few weeks, I've met some amazing people on twitter and I cannot wait to meet more. I will have some new posts up soon...actually I have no idea when... but if you follow me on Bloglovin, you can find out exactly when the posts come out! (Also follow me on twitter!) I will talk to y'all soon! ~Brooke May is here!! (Actually it was here yesterday but we can ignore that fact)
