Royal Chase by Sariah Wilson [ARC Review]

Royal Chase by Sariah Wilson [ARC Review]
Publication Date: January 26, 2016
Genre: Contemporary, Romance
Format: I received a copy from NetGalley in exchange for a honest review
Royal Chase is the second book in ‘The Royals of Monterra’ series. It is Lemon and Dante’s story of while Dante is on the reality TV show Marry Me and Lemon has to fill in for a missing girl. *WARNING: THERE MAY BE SOME SPOILERS*
Summary from Amazon:
“Booking her client, Prince Dante of Monterra, on reality show Marry Me is a royal coup for PR agent Lemon Beauchamp. But thanks to a last-minute glitch, Lemon must pretend to be one of the contestants vying to win the playboy prince’s love and then live happily ever after—at least until the publicity tour ends.
Prince Dante agreed to go on the show to find a wife, even though he already has the perfect candidate in mind. She’s smart, funny, sexy, and completely uninterested in wealth and fame. She’s also absolutely determined to keep him at arm’s length.
Even if Lemon weren’t already engaged, she can’t trust a notorious flirt like Dante. So she ignores the lingering looks. Those subtle, thrilling touches. That pulse-quickening kiss. Until suddenly, Lemon isn’t playing for the cameras. She’s lovestruck for real, and just maybe, the man behind the title is the one who’s always been in her heart…”
My Summary:
Lemon has her life all planned out; at least the next six weeks of her life. She’s opened her own PR firm, engaged and her wedding is in 6 weeks and she has hooked up the royals with new ways to increase tourism numbers. Her only clients (the royals of Monterra) are signed on to the new season of the reality TV show, Marry Me, and when a few girls find out that he is a royal, they are immediately escorted off the show, leaving a spot open and no one left to fill in. Needing to save her new firm as well as helping out a sorority sister, Lemon agrees to fill in the spot. Dante already knows what he wants in a wife, but Lemon keeps thinking the worst in him. It gives you a glimpse behind the scenes on what you might expect would happen on The Bachelor. But not everything is fun and games when trust is lost and friendship turns to betrayal.
Things I loved:
Things I didn’t love as much:
Overall:
This wasn’t the best book that I read and I didn’t like it as much as I wanted to. Trust me, I tried really hard to like it but it was very hard. I think this might be because I went into the book with expectations way too high. But other than that, it answered a lot of questions I had in Royal Date. One thing I do wish for is a book about after both Kat and Nico and Lemon and Dante are married and their life at the palace living together.
This was a very clean read and younger audiences can definitely read this book. You do have to read the first book to understand most of what happens and the review for that book will be posted later.
Rating:
I give this book a 8/10. I would recommend this book and I will read this book again.
Look for my review on Royal Date in a little while! Let me know what you think about the book and if you would read this book.

Things I loved:
- I loved how we got to see more about how Lemon and Dante met because in Royal Date, we only briefly saw them encounter
- I love books with the Bachelor/Bachelorette settings so this book wasn’t any different than I expected, reality TV show wise.
- Did I ever mention that I love Kat and Nico? This book really portrayed Kat as the older and more experienced friend and Lemon was a little bit more clueless.
- Sarafina and her sisters are also in this book!!! I loved the girls from the previous books so this was amazing to see them again.
- I am the type of person who loves reading about sabotage and blackmail (tells you a lot about my personality ;)) so I really enjoyed the parts that included that.
- You could really relate to how Lemon felt with Abigail (the very annoying and snobby girl who only wants Dante for the fame and money). Many people may have experienced people like Abigail before and their situations may have ended the same way so it was very satisfying for me when Abigail was finally caught in her act.
Things I didn’t love as much:
- The flashes back and forth between the past and the present were kind of hard to tell apart.
- I only wish the readers knew about the hidden cameras and that Rafe was also there as well as Taylor’s motives because it came as a shock to me in like the last 10-15 minutes of the book.
- There were some points where I was kind of like really?? Did that really just happen?
