The Bad Boy Bargain by Kendra C. Highley Genre: YA Contemporary Romance Publication Date: November 14, 2016 Format: I received an advanced reading copy to review from the publisher for a honest review on my blog. You can purchase a copy of the book here: https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B01M7TPAAZ/ref=x_gr_w_bb?ie=UTF8&tag=x_gr_w_bb-20&linkCode=as2&camp=1789&creative=9325&creativeASIN=B01M7TPAAZ&SubscriptionId=1MGPYB6YW3HWK55XCGG2 Summary: Baseball player Kyle Sawyer has many labels: bad boy, delinquent, ladies' man, fearless outfielder... Only one of them is actually true. But then sweet ballet dancer Faith Gladwell asks him to help wreck her reputation, and everything goes sideways. Faith knows a thing or two about love, and what she had with her cheating jerk of an ex wasn't it. When he starts spreading rumors about her being an Ice Queen, Faith decides it's time to let a little bad into her life. Lucky for her, Kyle Sawyer--dark, dangerous, totally swoonworthy Kyle Sawyer--is landscaping her backyard over Spring Break. Shirtless. And if she can convince him to play along, " dating" Kyle will silence the rumors. But Faith's plan threatens to expose Sawyer's biggest secret of all...and that's a risk he's not willing to take. Disclaimer: This book contains drop-the-book-and-fan-yourself kisses...and touches. Fall in love with a bad boy at your own risk. My thoughts: So if you’ve been following my reviews for the past month or so, you probably know that I love to read about sports, and so when I saw this book’s summary, I just knew that I had to read it. Faith is the laughingstock of the school when she refuses to sleep with her boyfriend, and consequently calls it quits with him. Now in order to try and stop all the taunts coming her way, and to prove that she isn’t a tease, she makes a deal with the boy who’s working on her yard, none other than the school’s bad-boy Kyle Sawyer. Kyle has his own secrets to keep. He is the star of the school’s baseball team, and is supposably able to kick anyone’s butt, including Faith’s ex jock boyfriend. I really liked how Kyle really wasn’t how he seemed, and underneath the cold hard exterior, is someone really caring and sweet. Another scene I really liked was when he finally went to talk to his old friend and finally gets his head around the whole situation and does something. Ok I really loved how obsessed they were with each other but just would not admit it. It was so cute though. They were completely obsessed with each other and it was written so well that the problem of the book being pretty much predictable didn’t bother me at all. I also really loved the dual points of views so we could see what was going on inside their heads, as well as their conversations with their respective friends. Also I have to mention: Violet, Faith’s best friend really needs her own book because she was always so drastic in doing something and I would really like to see just her and how that would affect the way she acts. Overall, I give the book a 8/10 (4/5 stars). I really enjoyed the book and I think if you’re looking for something cute and fun and easy to read, this is the book for you. Also, if you want to know more about the inspiration for the book, I will have a guest post from the author right here on the blog real soon! Until then, tell me what you think about the book.
