Royal Secret by Marie Long Genre: Romance Publication Date: July 31, 2016 Format: I received a copy from the author in exchange for an honest review. You can get a kindle copy here: https://www.amazon.com/Royals-Monterra-Secret-Kindle-Novella-ebook/dp/B01JGQP3LE/ref=sr_1_2?s=books&ie=UTF8&qid=1470448443&sr=1-2&keywords=royal+secret+marie+long#nav-subnav (So some of you have asked, most of the books in The Royals of Montera kindle world are kindle formats only because they are part of the KINDLE world. Sorry, that came out a little more aggressive than I intended…) Summary: Twenty-three-year-old Trina Mauer never thought she would be lucky enough to win a vacation to the beautiful and luxurious country of Monterra. But luck is not the only thing that finds her—so does her love of music and the interest of a cute drummer in a popular jazz band. Twenty-three-year-old Samuele Fiorelli aspires for his band to get noticed and signed for a professional deal. But balancing life as a musician and his responsibilities as a Fiorelli royal can be difficult at times, especially when a certain attractive bassist catches his eye. Because she shares his interests in music, Samuele thinks Trina would be a perfect addition to his band—and an even more perfect girl he would love to get to know—but first, he needs to convince her to stay in Monterra. My Thoughts: Ok, I freaking loved this book. There’s no hiding that. This book was short and sweet and to the point, with a little bit of twist to it. This book had something that many of the other books in the series doesn’t and I absolutely love it.
The book starts off with Trina visiting Monterra because she won a contest sponsored by her favorite romance author, which coincidentally is the country that her best friend is living in now that she’s married to a Monterran Duke. Of course, she meets a handsome guy who wants to make a name for himself, apart from his royal line. She falls for him and tries to deny her feelings since she’s only in the country for a very short amount of time. I really hope that Marie come out with more books in the series because I absolutely love her writing. There’s something about her writing that seems very down to earth and is very easy to read. I would love for a book about Adeline and Erudito. I love how the book really highlights relationships between Trina and Adeline, because it really shows the interactions between author and reader. And to find out that your favorite author has a royal secret that very few know about is incredible. I liked this book in that there were some instances where you really couldn’t tell who Trina was going to end up with. I really liked that because most of the books in the Kindle World have a really predictable ending. Another thing I loved, was the planners. I personally love planners and having that incorporated into the book was really fun. The portration of planner addicts in the book is way too real and I love that. Non-planner people might think that it’s kinda extreme that we all carry it around all the time but it’s 100% true. That actually got me looking up more stickers online and buying way too much. (Let me know if you want to see pictures of my planner. I just got a couple new ones since school is starting soon!) The only thing that I had a problem with was that the book was a little too similar to Secret Notte. I mean, I still loved it but I wished that it was a little more different. Overall, I give the book a 8/10 (4/5 stars). I really enjoyed the book and I actually liked the brother-sister relationship of Adeline and Samuele a little better than the actual romance storyline. I would really want to read more about them and about Trina’s and Claudia’s life together in Monterra. I recommend the book to anyone who likes any one of the books in The Royals of Monterra Kindle World. So what did you think about the review? Have you read the book yet?
