Hey everyone! I am back today with another installment with Classic Fridays. If you don’t know what Classic Fridays is, here is the page on my blog where you can get more information on it: Classic Fridays. A quick rundown of the project is that this is a weekly meme and anyone can join us in it! This week’s topic is Books to Movies! What book do you want to see be made into a movie? Why? (Optional: #Bookstagram prompt) The one book that I’ve been wanting to see made into a movie is The Selection series by Kiera Cass. I think it would make for an amazing movie, with its intricate plot, characters, etc… You can see a picture of the book on my instagram. https://www.instagram.com/thecozylittlebooknook/ What book do you absolutely not want to be made into a movie? There are a lot of simple romance books that i absolutely do not want to see in the movie. I think there is no creative aspect to it, and would make for an entertaining movie. I don’t want to name names, in order to avoid backlash. What’s your favorite book-to-movie adaption? Do you think it was done accurately? Why or why not? I don’t have a favorite book-to-movie adaptation but most that I’ve seen have minor parts that could’ve have been better or are missing an important scene from the book. If you could cast any actor(tress) to be any character from any book, who would it be? Hmmm. this is fun. I think I would love to see Brenda Song as Celeste in The Selection and the Marano sisters as Aspen’s sisters. I think they’re great actresses, and are right for that part. :) (I have no future as a casting agent ahaha). What’s one thing you would change in a movie that you think would make it better? (Is it missing an important scene? Character? etc…) One thing that I think makes every movie better is casting. It’s super important that casting is done properly or else the entire movie will seem off and un-interesting. Is there any movie that you want to be in book form? Revenge of the Bridesmaid! I absolutely love that movie and I have watched it over 30 times (what am I doing with my life??) and I would love it to be in a book form. What’s one movie that seems like everyone has seen but you are reluctant to see it? Actually, Harry Potter. I have my visions of what goes on and I don’t want those to get wrecked when I see the movie. I will watch them eventually. Which movie did you see first than the book? I actually watched Charlie and the Chocolate Factory movie before I read the book, and I gotta admit, it freaked the hell out of me. But there were so many parts in the movie that I didn’t notice the first time, until I re-watched it again a little while back. But I do think I like the book better, Do you have a favorite OST (original soundtrack) for a movie adaptation? Oh! There was this one movie where I loved all the songs from it, I’m not sure if it was an OST nor can I remember the name of the movie/book but I just remember I loved it. Is there a book-to-movie adaptation that was better than the book? I’ve only watched bits and pieces of the Harry Potter movies, and I’m not saying that they were better than the books (at least the ones that I have read), but I love watching the movie magic happen, and also I love Emma Watson. I mean, who doesn’t love her? She’s amazing. On the topic of Emma Watson, have y’all seen the new sneak-peeks of the new Beauty and the Beast movie starring Emma Watson? It’s amazingly magical y’all. (But in a totally opposite direction than the HP ones of course). Which book-to-movie adaptations are you most excited to see in the coming months/years? I’ve actually heard that Warner Bros have bought the rights to making The Selection, so I’m really hoping for progress on that. That’s it for the post today! Don’t forget to go and check out the posts from everyone else who posted Classic Fridays posts today! (The links are on the Classic Fridays page) :) Also if you have any suggestions for future week’s or just questions you think would be good, please email them to me at [email protected], including your name and any information so I can be sure to credit you!
So what did you think about my answers? What book do you not want to see be made into a movie? What’s your favorite (don’t have to be an adaptation) of all time? That’s it for this week! Don’t forget to check back on that page and find out more information if you are interested in joining us next week! As always, I will have more posts coming up this week so keep an eye out for that! ~Brooke Twitter: @BrookeEvans2001 Instagram: @thecozylittlebooknook Facebook: Brooke Evans
