Hey everyone! I am back today with another installment with Classic Fridays. If you don’t know what Classic Fridays is, here is the page on my blog where you can get more information on it: Classic Fridays. A quick rundown of the project is that this is a weekly meme and anyone can join us in it! We'd love to see you join us in the upcoming weeks! Don't forget to join the mailing list if you want the questions sent to you every week! This week's topic is Debuts Generic Q’s for debuts: What are your top 5 favorite debuts of 2016 (so far)? (#ClassicFridays prompt for IG) Head over to my Instagram, @thecozylittlebooknook and you’ll find the picture of 5 of the 2016 debuts. While you’re over there, why not give it a like and a follow? (*wink, wink*) Which 2016 debuts where you highly anticipating but have not read yet? One book that I’ve been wanting to read but haven’t read yet is The Season by Jonah Lisa Dyer and Stephen Dyer. I’m hoping to get it for my birthday next month though! If you had a free pass ticket to 3 debut bookish worlds, which ones would you like to visit the most? Hm… I’m not sure. I’m gonna pass on this one. Favorite debut book boyfriend and why? Can I saw all of them? (of the book that I’ve read so far). Especially Ren from Love and Gelato and Evan from The Way to Game The Walk of Shame. They’re all so cute and ugh… why can’t I find someone like that? Favorite cover of a debut author Again can I say all of them? I absolutely adore the cover of Summer of Sloane and The Way to Game The Walk of Shame because of how the colors balance each other and really represents the book. Who is your most favorite character from a debut novel? For this one I definitely have to say Sloane from Summer of Sloane. She’s such a badass and I love that about her. She’s not afraid to speak her mind and stand up for herself, while being able to care for others at the same time. Q’s about the latest debut read: What made you pick this book up? My latest debut read was Love and Gelato by Jenna Welsh Evans. I really liked the summary from the back of the book and who doesn’t like reading about foreign countries? I knew I just had to read it when I saw it. How did you hear about the book? The same way i hear about any other book, through twitter or Instagram, or on someone’s blog. Actually I’m pretty sure I saw it on all 3 platforms before actually picking it up. What genre was the book in? Is it something that you normally read? The genre was YA Contemporary Romance and is definitely something that I normally read! Would you read more books by this author? Why or why not? I will definitely read more books by this author. I really like her style of writing so I will be reading her next book when it comes out! Also, don’t forget to go and check out the posts from everyone else who posted Classic Fridays posts today! (The links are on the Classic Fridays page) :)
So that’s it for this week. Don’t forget to check back on that page and find out more information if you are interested in joining us next week! As always, I will have more posts coming up this week so keep an eye out for that! ~Brooke Twitter: @BrookeEvans2001 Instagram: @thecozylittlebooknook Facebook: Brooke Evans

My Thoughts: Hi everyone! Since today is the only day this week where I’m not posting, I thought, why not make it a new record for me and post everyday for this week?
Anyways, since school is starting next week, I’ve had to refine and update my posting schedule. But don’t worry, I’m not posting any less, I’m actually posting a lot more a week. This schedule will be for the rest of August and September and then based on how it works out, I might change some things for October. Mondays: Reviews Tuesdays: Top Ten Tuesday Posts Wednesdays: None--or important posts that need to go up during the week. Thursdays: Reviews Fridays: Classic Fridays Saturdays: Occasional reviews Sundays: Discussion posts/Life Updates To elaborate, there will be reviews every single Monday and Thursday, and sometimes on Saturdays; Top Ten Tuesday Posts and Classic Friday Posts on Tuesdays and Fridays respectively; and Discussion posts or Life Updates every Sunday. Life Updates will be like updates about what happened throughout the week that I feel like I should share. It’s my version of having a personal blog but not as full-fledged. Then there will be nothing on Wednesdays, these days will be my days to catch up on scheduling posts. Also I’ll also have blog tours, book blitzes, cover reveals, etc… throughout the weeks as well. I know this was a really short post but it has all the information you need to know. This is the most I’ve ever posted during the school year, so I’m excited (and to be honest, a little nervous) to see how this goes. Also most of the posts will be scheduled ahead of time, at least I hope I can get them all scheduled ahead of time. So let me know, what do you think about this new schedule? What do you want to see from my blog? You can also find me on Twitter @BrookeEvans2001 and on Instagram @thecozylittlebooknook. I will be back tomorrow with another review! ~Brooke Hey Everyone! Today’s post is another Top Ten Tuesday post and the prompt this week is Books with X setting. Since it’s my last week of summer, I decided to pull up a list of my favorite summer reads, (I know that’s not really a setting but ya know, it’s my post so I get to do whatever I want right??). Also for those who don’t know, this weekly meme is hosted by The Broke and the Bookish! Oh yeah, I’m also in the middle of creating my own banner for this meme so look forward to that soon! Well let's get into the post! That’s it for the list for today. Of course there are many other books that I like that are set in the summer but if I listed out that list, that would take me forever. Also there are also a lot more that I haven’t read yet, but I’m seriously looking forward to them.
What are your favorite summer reads? Let me know in the comments below so I can also check them out! Also you can find me on Twitter @BrookeEvans2001 and on Instagram @thecozylittlebooknook so we can be friends there too! I’ll be back tomorrow with a updated posts schedule so until then, we can chat about anything bookish! ~Brooke Strange Weather by Hannah Mathewson Genre: YA Paranormal Fantasy Publication Date: July 11, 2016 Format: I received a copy of the book from the author in exchange for an honest review. You can get a copy of the book here: https://www.amazon.com/dp/B01IC2BTZM#nav-subnav (This book is free on Amazon for Kindle Unlimited users so go and read that while you can!!) Summary: Lightning strikes a sleepy valley in the rural Lake District, Northern England, and something extraordinary begins for sixteen-year-old Ivy Tallis. She’s the only witness of this single, silent bolt, and she’s no weather expert, but she’s sure there need to be clouds for there to be lightning – and there are none. It’s just the first in a series of increasingly bizarre goings on. Soon, Ivy is performing feats of supernatural speed, extra-sensory ability, and telekinesis, and the only clue as to why lies with her high school nemeses; the pretty, popular Sasha Rivers and her twin brother James. Meanwhile, her neighbours’ new lodger appears to be haunting her every move. The enigmatic William Winter has no home, no family, and no comment on the matter of who he is or where he came from. All Ivy knows is that she’s crazy about him. But the horrifying truth of what Ivy really is – and the death and destruction she is fated to cause – will threaten the future she thought she’d have, and tear her and William apart. Ivy wants to trust him, but the mysterious stranger has a secret of his own, and sharing hers could cost Ivy her life. Strange Weather is nail-biting from start to finish and tells the story of what can happen when you can’t tell your enemies from your friends. My Thoughts: Hi everyone! Today is the second to last day for the Summer Blogger Promo Tour hosted by Jessica @The Book Bratz. For those who don’t know what it is, every Sunday I will be featuring another blogger on my blog, a different blogger each week for 7 weeks. On the 8th week, I will be posting a recap of my experience. I think that’s the basic outline of this and without delaying it any more, here’s Flo from Book Nerds Across America! Hi! I'm Flo from Book Nerds Across America and I'm excited to talk about my ideal library! Here goes: First, I need couches. And bean bags. Like, all over. Let's relax and be comfy while we read :) And how about we do THEME rooms?! Like a room of Classics could look like it was a 1930s drawing room. A room for Thrillers and Suspense can have like crime scene tape all around, footsteps on the ground, random "clues" scattered about. And definitely interactive. Microscopes and magnifying glasses and such. The movie room could be a mini-theater, basically. Theater rows in the middle and shelves of movies on the sides. A Romance Room could be pink and have quotes and cheesy 80s and 90s love songs playing quietly in the background. And so on and so forth. The library would be open 24/7. Because sometimes you can't put a book down! So if you need to stay up til 3 a.m. to finish it, so be it. And definitely a snack bar. With drinks. I'd love a glass of wine with my Jane Austen or some Oreos with my Simon vs. the Homo Sapiens Agenda. And what about a play component?! Like every month or every three months, acting groups performed plays?! It would have like different acting "groups" and few months your particular acting group performed a different play. I love it! Nice carpet. Pretty walls. Actually, walls with quotes. All over. Quotes from books. And one wall is one that you can write on, so you can add a favorite quote at any time. Yep, I'd be at this library all the time! :) That was fun -- thank you, Brooke, for having me over today! This sounds like such a nice library. If this were real, I’ll probably be there 24/7 as well :)
Be sure to come back next week to read my recap of this entire tour and until then, I will have other reviews and posts up soon! Tell me what you thought about this post in the comments below or find me on social media! ~Brooke Hey everyone! I am back today with another installment with Classic Fridays. If you don’t know what Classic Fridays is, here is the page on my blog where you can get more information on it: Classic Fridays. A quick rundown of the project is that this is a weekly meme and anyone can join us in it! This week’s topic is Currently Reading Currently Reading: Love & Gelato by Jenna Welsh Evans How long on average does it take you to read a medium (350-400 page) sized book? On average, it takes me 2-3 hours to read a book, if I’m uninterrupted. If I’m reading throughout the school day, I think it takes me maybe 2 days to finish a book, depending on the amount of time I have during the days. Is your current read amazing, okay, or not very good? Tell why! I’ve been eyeing the book ever since it came out and I got a copy from the publisher to review (which I will have up super soon) and so far it’s amazing. I really like these contemporary romance books so I see the potential of this book being super good. Turn to page 187, the first name to appear will be your one true BFF On page 187, the first name that I saw (and the only name on there) is Howard. So it seems that Howard is going to be my one true BFF :) Turn to page 43, the first object will be your weapon in a zombie apocalypse The first object I see that I will use in a zombie apocalypse is shoelaces. Hmmm… that interesting.. First line of your current read The first line of the book is “You’ve had bad days before, right?” What do you think about the main character so far? I really feel bad for the main character, Lina because she literally just found out who her dad is and where he lives/works, and she is shipped to Italy to live there with him for a while. But she will also have some amazing adventures in Italy cuz gelato and cute boys (that’s a good enough reason right?) What genre are you reading right now? The genre that book is in is YA Contemporary Romance What is your favorite thing about your current read? My favorite thing about this book is that it’s a summer romance book and is set in Italy (which is a place I want to visit!!) Is this your first book by this author? Yes this book is the first by this author. Is it a standalone or part of a series? I believe the book is a standalone. Why or how did you choose your current read? I’ve been wanting to read it for so long and I got it to review. If you could go to the world of your current read, regardless of genre, and spend a week there, what would you want to do? Which of the characters would you want to hang out with and why? I would totally go to Italy and just go sightseeing and eat good food! Of course I would want to hang out with the main character, Lina as well. Take a picture of one thing or place or event that you feel represents your current read and post on your bookstagram with the tag #ClassicFridays. You can find that picture on my instagram: @thecozylittlebooknook Also, don’t forget to go and check out the posts from everyone else who posted Classic Fridays posts today! (The links are on the Classic Fridays page) :)
So that’s it for this week. Don’t forget to check back on that page and find out more information if you are interested in joining us next week! As always, I will have more posts coming up this week so keep an eye out for that! ~Brooke Twitter: @BrookeEvans2001 Instagram: @thecozylittlebooknook Facebook: Brooke Evans Hi Everyone! I finally decided to join in on the Top Ten Tuesday hype and start doing those posts. I’ve actually contemplated joining in on these posts for a while now but for some reason I’m kept putting it off. I think I joined in at the right week! This week’s prompt is REWIND, which means that it can be any of the past prompts. This week, I chose to do the prompt from last week, what books I would buy if I had a fully loaded gift card. First of all, wouldn’t this be absolutely wonderful if that would happen? Like someone, will you please do that for my birthday in September? Anyway, let’s get into the books: 1. The Season by Jonah Lisa Dyer and Stephen Dyer 2. The Way Back To You by Michelle Andreani & Mindi Scott 3. The Square Root of Summer by Harriet Reuter Hapgood 4. Summer in the Invisible City by Juliana Romano 5. All the Feels by Danika Stone 6. P.S. I Still Love You by Jenny Han 7. Spoiled by Heather Cocks 8. The Season of You and Me by Robin Constantine 9. City Love by Susane Colasanti 10. Seventeenth Summer by Maureen Daly All of these book are on my TBR list and I can’t wait for a chance to actually get my hands on them and read them all.
Have you read any of these book? What would you do with a fully loaded gift card? ~Brooke Royal Secret by Marie Long Genre: Romance Publication Date: July 31, 2016 Format: I received a copy from the author in exchange for an honest review. You can get a kindle copy here: https://www.amazon.com/Royals-Monterra-Secret-Kindle-Novella-ebook/dp/B01JGQP3LE/ref=sr_1_2?s=books&ie=UTF8&qid=1470448443&sr=1-2&keywords=royal+secret+marie+long#nav-subnav (So some of you have asked, most of the books in The Royals of Montera kindle world are kindle formats only because they are part of the KINDLE world. Sorry, that came out a little more aggressive than I intended…) Summary: Twenty-three-year-old Trina Mauer never thought she would be lucky enough to win a vacation to the beautiful and luxurious country of Monterra. But luck is not the only thing that finds her—so does her love of music and the interest of a cute drummer in a popular jazz band. Twenty-three-year-old Samuele Fiorelli aspires for his band to get noticed and signed for a professional deal. But balancing life as a musician and his responsibilities as a Fiorelli royal can be difficult at times, especially when a certain attractive bassist catches his eye. Because she shares his interests in music, Samuele thinks Trina would be a perfect addition to his band—and an even more perfect girl he would love to get to know—but first, he needs to convince her to stay in Monterra. My Thoughts: Hi everyone! Today is the sixth day for the Summer Blogger Promo Tour hosted by Jessica @The Book Bratz. For those who don’t know what it is, every Sunday I will be featuring another blogger on my blog, a different blogger each week for 7 weeks. On the 8th week, I will be posting a recap of my experience. On my blog today, I will be having the creator herself, Jessica from The Book Bratz! Jessica wrote and published a book called Switch when she was 15 years old. As a 15 year old, I am fascinated by her accomplishment so I decided to interview her about her book and the process she went through with her book. So without any other delays, here’s my interview with Jessica. Where did you get the inspiration for the book? My dad is a detective, and I hear a lot about the cases he works on, so that's definitely what helped inspire the murder mystery. The Rules for Disappearing was a good book that also gave me the idea of running and changing your identity, also. When did you know that you wanted to publish the book? I first posted the story on an online writing website, and after it was voted the story of the week and I was receiving hundreds of comments each day telling me how good it was, I knew I had to go forward with turning it into a real, published book. Did you self publish the book or go through a publisher? I self-published through CreateSpace. :) How did the entire process of publishing your book work? CreateSpace is really great, because it doesn't cost you a penny, as some other publishers do. I sent them my manuscript and they edited it, formatted it, helped me with the cover, sent me a proof copy, and then introduced my book to the real world! What publishing house would you like to work for in the future? Oh man, my life goal is to be published by HarperTeen. I would absolutely love that. What’s it like to have a co-blogger? It's fantastic, because Amber and I are both so busy that running a blog solo would be way too difficult. When you have two people, you can get posts and reviews written at double the speed, and you get a lot more work done that way. We also have totally different reading tastes, so if one of us gets an ARC for a genre that we aren't crazy about, chances are that the other person would enjoy the book. So we don't turn down many ARCs, because there's always at least one of us willing to read it. When did you decide to start your blog? Spring of our freshman year of high school! Amber emailed me asking if I'd want to start a blog with her, and The Book Bratz was born. What’s your favorite author to work with? Nikki Kelly, the author of the Styclar Saga! She is the sweetest human being in all the land. What’s your favorite part of blogging? Getting to fangirl about books with people from all over the world! What’s your favorite book to re-read? Looking for Alaska by John Green. My favorite book of all time, hands-down. That’s it for today’s post. Also, today I’m featured on Valerie’s blog: http://hesaidbooksorme.blogspot.com so go over and read more about me there as well! (I give tips for people who want to or are starting their own blogs)
Be sure to come back next week to meet another blogger and until then, I will have other reviews and posts up soon! Tell me what you thought about this post in the comments below or find me on social media! ~Brooke Email: [email protected] Twitter: @BrookeEvans2001 Instagram: @thecozylittlebooknook Facebook: Brooke Evans |
