Forgotten Princess by M.R. Pritchard Genre: Romance, Teen and YA Publication date: January 20, 2016 Format: I received the book from the author. This review took me a lot longer than i anticipated so I apologize for putting it up so late. I really loved this book so I hope you will read it after reading my review. I always love discovering new authors that I haven't heard of before so this was one of those times. This book is part of 'The Royals of Monterra' kindle world. Summaries:
Amazon Summary: Aria would have been a princess if her family hadn’t lost the monarchy. Since the House of Savoy was forced to flee she’s been roaming Europe with a band of gypsies, only stopping to spend cold winters behind the safe walls of Monterra. Aria has embraced the nomadic life, discovered freedom in travel; she’s finally found her niche in the world. Until Prince Dominic crosses her path. The handsome prince encompasses everything Aria lost, everything she’s been hiding from. She knows better than to get involved, princes don’t date gypsy girls with secrets like hers. When Prince Dominic finally makes his move, will Aria leave her insecurities in the past or will she run with the gypsies? My Summary: Aria is with the gypsy group for most of her life after her family was stripped of their royal title. Her parents sent her to live with the traveling group with a family very different from her own, but she has taken to live with that. Every winter, the gypsies are welcomed into Monterra, and are offered work for the winter months by the king because of some legend that can be traced way back. Aria has been avoiding the Monterra Elites for most of her life and this winter couldn’t be any different. This is until an eventful morning on the ski slopes and after that, Aria finds it harder to avoid Dominic. He turns out to like Aria and goes out of his way to see her and spend time with her. Dominic becomes the perfect guy that Aria has wanted (but won’t admit) and Aria tries to decline his attention but finds that hard to do. I mean, who wouldn’t want a hot, shirtless prince helping you plant flowers in the garden? My Thoughts: First off, the description provided from Amazon automatically grabbed my attention. I went into reading the book with the feeling that I was going to get emotionally attached to Aria and boy, was I correct. The first paragraph alone left me wanting to keep reading to find out what happens. The first chapter starts with an ideal scenario and most people who read books like this know that something is going to go wrong very soon. In the next chapter, the point of view shifts to Dominic’s the heir of the throne. I love how we got to see the playful and young version of the stoic king and queen in Royal Date because we never focused on their back story. I just loved how slow paced and relaxed the book felt because there wasn’t any real plot, and I love reading books like that. The cover art of the book is very simple. I am not usually one who decided whether or not to read a book based on a cover but this cover definitely captured my attention and drew me in. (I was going to read the book anyway and the cover was just a nice bonus). Overall, I loved the book and it was very well written. The only thing I wish for was that this was longer and we got to find out more. I give this 9 out of 10 stars. Let me know if you've read the book and what you think about it!
